This arc is beginning to ramp up, what do you all think will happen next?
Inspired by another thread I just saw...
I think this arc is obviously the first domino in the Final War arc
Saturn is coming, and he will bring a reckoning. But I dont see him being that much above Luffy (if he is at all), so he is gonna have to throw a wrench in the story some other way. Kidnap a crewmate maybe? I think he will use some cheap DF hax that somehow incapacitates the crew. Then he will grab (some or all) Seraphims and a few members of the crew. Hopefully this is a driving force for WG War Arc
Kizaru might be tasked with fighting off Zoro or Luffy... or even trying to kill Vegapunk.
of characters who make THE most sense to be kidnapped
1. Robin 2. Brook 3. Nami 4. Sanji 5. Franky 6. Chopper 7. Franky
i dont see Zoro and Luffy being separated rn, only have Sanji high cause itd be lame if it was only the mid/low trio being taken
Outside of that, I could see Bonney/Vegapunks joining up with the crew to find the RevArmy
Honestly not even sold on this, i dont have final war until after Laughtale, but this sounds fun
-Kuma fights a Gorosei in Mary Geoise, avoids him, then eventually rescues Vivi from a prison
-Bonney fainted, but will wake up with Kuma's memories/personality. She'll then put her personality into S-Bear to make a whole new Kuma.
-Vegapunk's Stella body got kidnapped by Shiryu, who took down the laser grid using his invisibility.
-Luffy and Chopper find Bonney, but are confused when she talks like Kuma and runs off
-Zoro grills the Vegapunks on what happened to Kuma, and their cloning
-Sanji, Nami, and Jinbei are also very wary of the cloning
-Groups spread out to look for Stella Vegapunk
-Caribou runs into Blackbeard's crew, and wants to tell Blackbeard about Pluton
-Aokiji is on Egghead, and has been ordered to kidnap Nico Robin and Nami for their respective translation and navigation skills
-Aokiji clashes with Smoker, and briefly defeats him, before Smoker unthaws
-Sabo and the Lulusia Kingdom were rescued by Blueno and other CP0 members before the island was destroyed by Imu
-Blueno discovered that CP0 was going to be erased by the WG and replaced with Seraphim, partially due to them having an unidentified mole (Stussy), and due to failures in Wano
-Blueno wants CP0 to join the Revolutionaries, the only force capable of protecting them, who would welcome their info
-Akainu is pissed the Gorosei will be taking control of the Seraphim, but hopes it keeps the Holy Land safe after Sabo's attack
Finally, I think Stussy will betray the Straw Hats.
Arc ends with Straw Hats clashing with various forces as they escape Egghead, and it's destroyed, mirroring Ohara.
Either S-Bear transports them out of the island, or they chase after Blackbeard's crew who kidnapped Stella Vegapunk.
After conversing with Caribou, Blackbeard says: "ZEHAHAHAHAHA! It's all falling into place! It's like fate wants me to win! Screw our prior plans! Pluton is sitting, unguarded, waiting for us! The Borders of Wano are nothing to us, with Augur's Warp Fruit! Summon the whole fleet! WE'RE TAKING OVER WANO!!!"

Usopp gettin captured would work better imo. It could be the start of a char arc for him to learn to overcome his fears. Don't think any of them's gettin kidnapped tho.
I'm scared to imagine the number of characters involved in the final war, where everything will be happening all at once, and the fights of Grand Fleet members will go like this - couple panels of focus, months out of focus and off-panelling the most interesting moments of the fight, and then sudden reappearance for another 2 panels.
Hope it won't be the same for SH whose name isn't Luffy. Luffy will hog the spotlight as usual, the most busy of all shounen MC's I know

I still have unsettling flashbacks from Bleach last arc... And there were a lot less characters!
I really loved how Impel Down & Marineford were about 50 chapters long and how amazing they were in terms of handling many characters in a cool way. I wish more SH would come to assist Luffy, but even without them it was one hell of an arc.
I wish Oda re-read his own story and learned from his past self :)
Also, Re:Poll - I think I saw some comments on forums that Oda wanted to retire from OP once it's finished, not sure if it's speculation or confirmed by his interviews, but I think with OP we will have the following situation:
- Oda doesn't do any more manga content, but might be involved in movie making/overseeing side projects
- there will be some spin-offs and other manga content done by other mangakas, as there already are some, and Shueisha needs those shiny gold coins.
