1050+ chapters and his best feat is taking kid arm as a rookie, since shanks is meeting up with bb pretty soon he's getting beat shiryu and co

Can't even say he's close to shanks in strength, seeing how kizaru treated him

Everything is one way or another, is used to hype Oda's favorite. Benn happens to function as a tool to elevate both Shanks & Zoro. Too bad no connection to Oden.

The stronger & more awesome Benn is, (1) Shanks will look better because he's the captain (2) Zoro will look better because of #2 hype from the crew, especially the paralleling SHP & RHP.
