General & Others When did you start to notice the pacing issues in One Piece?

#21
One Piece has some of the worst pacing in manga. But when did you first notice how bad it was?

For me it was in Enies Lobby with the whole Zoro and Ussop being handcuffed. It clearly was to add levity to the arc, but it completely ruined the pacing and overall tone of the arc. Dragging it out.
Imo Dressrosa. Fighting against Doflamingo was unbearably long while everyone focused on unimportant sidequests etc...but i never thought it can go even further downhill in Wano

Lol at people thinking there is no pacing issue. I read Dressrosa volume per volume and Inhope I never reread that arc ever again. It started at EL for me then all post ts minus riverie
Protective nature. There are people here who never touched another manga let alone a book and they think OP is some masterpiece so they feel a need to protect it.

Chapters are never meaningless, there is always a purpose to what Oda is writing, even if its goofy or you can't see clearly why the moment the chapter drops. THat's how the storytelling of One Piece works. It's not always designed to be obvious.
Yes the chapter devoted to King Baum in Whole Cake was pivotal for the story

Pacing issues are irrelevants when the story is good. So I only noticed at pandemics when I stopped to watch anime and went manga which was already beginning Onigashima raid. That's when I noticed the pacing issues but again it is irrelevant when the story plot is good.
