It was the only way to make those wins believable with the difference in their strengths, but Luffy still grows stronger every time.

Now he has grown stronger after defeating an actual top tier, so he'll solo the next top tier. Hopefully.

Luffy vs Doffy

Luffy fought a lot at Punk Hazard few hours before Dressrosa and then fought a lot at Coliseum fought some more until find Doflamingo and Trebol. Fought Trebol, fought Bellamy and then Doflamingo.

Doflamingo low diffed Smoker and clashed with Aokiji few minutes(?) before coming back to Dressrosa. Then he 2v1 Law with Fujitora helping him which ended up being a low diff. Then he fought 2v2 Law and Luffy and finally went 1v1 with Luffy.

Law also fought at Punk Hazard few hours before Dressrosa. Got low diffed by Doffy and Fujitora. Got mid diffed fighting Doffy and Trebol with Luffy helping him.

Doflamingo and Luffy stated to each other that both were equally damaged before their 1v1 started. So they had a 1v1 in equal conditions.

Luffy vs Cracker

Luffy would never beat Cracker without Nami and plot armor(gag finale).

Luffy vs Katakuri

Luffy was in completely disavantage against Katakuri. Katakuri was the one getting help. But Luffy didn't won at the end.

Akainu is the only option for a traditional 1v1.

- Imu will battle the entire world like Uta.
- Teach is Rocks 2.0 so there's a high possibility that Luffy won't solo him.

Probably BB, anyone other than the usual arc ally/allies and Zoro helping out would make Luffy and BB look weak asf and we're past Luffy needing help in every fight.
Now if loses multiple times and BB doesn't finish him off...
