Why do people want Zoro to be from a famous family?
We already have like half of the crew with that(Luffy Sanji Usopp Nico). Then you have Chopper being trained by arguably the second best doctor in the world, Franky being trained by the best Ship builder in the world and his parents being pirates and Brook being a Former Military captain(implying his family might have been nobility)
It's already bad enough that he was trained by Ryuma's descendent
At this point The Strawhats are like Rich Fratboys who became successful because of daddy's connections while pretend to be self made men

Yeah, like I think Zoro probably already knows mostly what his backstory is, he just doesn’t really care. It’s not a major part of his motivations in beating Kaido, I think at the most he might originally have heard stories about Ryuma from the Wano people and that’s why he wanted to be WSS at first.
Soon enough hopefully.
This arc seems to entail one of the best opportunities for that, but perhaps business comes first and we will only get additional flashbacks by the time Kaido is defeated or sadly after the Wano events take place and perhaps more generically when Zoro will unlock the potential to turn a sword permanently black.

its a shonen manga afterall. also it gives a lot of room for fantheories which is a big part of the one piece comunity. also its just cool to find out your favourite character is even more special than you thought. Idk to me it just seems kinda boring to say such an important character has a cheap and weak backstory like yeah his parents were farmers and now they are dead and thats it
Tbh I don't mind if Zoro doesn't have a back story, I meant I'd take it but if Oda doesn't do it then well, that's that. I meant Zoro doesn't need to be a descendant of someone important to make him relevant. Zoro's showed that he's a self earning guy since the start with his crazy trainings. Not everyone needs a complex past. And Zoro doesn't seem like a guy who'd care about his past/origin that much.
I'd prefer an explanation over the illegal escape of some Shimotsuki members to East Blue tbh. Maybe Zoro's parents were part of it and they'd get fleshed out. And while at that we can have some stories about Ryuma as he's also a Shimotsuki and how he shocked the World with his fights against the WG.
I'd love it if the story of the Shimotsuki gets connected to the plot about Wano's closed border policy gets explained at the end of Wano because other than that we'll have to wait until EOS.
