Character Discussion When you realize that Mihawk was the strongest WG affiliate

It looks pretty likely. Certainly in the modern era.
Mihawk vs Prime Garp can go either way, but he’s stronger than all the other Marines, and miles stronger than the other Warlords.
Imu and the Gorosei are the only potential exemptions, what with being immortal eldritch abominations. But so much of them comes down on how they actually end up getting beaten. I do still expect the Gorosei to ultimately be weaker than the likes of Kaido, Mihawk, Shanks and Dragon, because the regen clearly isn’t infallible or they’d never be beaten.
Sengoku and Doffy were amazed that Mihawk actually bothered to show up to the meeting we saw him at, he was only there to hear about the Strawhats.
As for Marineford, he ignored orders, walked out and suffered zero consequences.

We saw hancock skip meeting, we saw Jimbe skip meetings, we saw BB doing whatever we wanted.
Then we see Posthawk showing up whenever the government calls him, and fighting a war when ordered like a good Hawkdog. Oh, and lets not forget him being unable to hurt a YC2 or barely touch a PTS Luffy while going all out against him.

Yet Mihawk can't survive the seas on him winter joinh WG or Buggy & Croco
Yet WG never worried about losing Mihawk as they do about Kuzan or how they refuse to fire Garp
If Marineford never happened I would probably be more open to this, but Akainu simply mogged everyone in that arc. The difference between how Mihawk approached WB and Vista and how Akainu approached the exact same characters was heaven and earth and it was all happening in the same arc.
Now obviously Mihawk wasn't trying one bit, but two things can be true at the same time. We can give Mihawk a pass because he obviously deserves one, but we can also accept Akainu's presence and aura dwarfed everyone else's, in what was called "the war of the best". At the end of the day there is an author drawing this stuff.
For this reason there's no reason to believe Mihawk was clearly above any of the top tiers in their prime at that war, because Oda never even came close to presenting it this way when we had the chance to see them all in the same stage. Mihawk is on the same level until proven otherwise, with maybe a slight nod to Akainu due to the reasons I listed but even that you can point to his importance/relevancy being the reason he stood out, but a lot of times that could be the difference anyway.
At the moment there is no top 1 character in One Piece, only Kaidou was intentionally being pushed in that direction. Before that it was Whitebeard. This fandom loves to rank top tiers but there really isn't any differentiation among the majority of them, the best you can do is put characters in sub tiers. So until we get characters going clearly all out like Big Mom and Kaidou, statements like these are just empty carbs.

Also we know WG don't fire people who are yonko/FA level (Garp case) , even Admirals ...because of their strength
