Awakening = Become One With Your DF,
Which implies removing a Restriction that is Automatically Applied once you consume a DF,
It's no different than Zoro with Enma for Example,
To be able to Wield Enma, Zoro gives it Access to some of his Haki (Let's say 50%),
But their True Potential together can only be Unlocked when Zoro allows 100% of his Haki to Flow into it,
That was basically Enma's Equivalent of "Awakening",
So, imo when a DF is Consumed, it's Fueled by your Haki (Let's say 50%, and it's why you can't Consume 2 DFs),
Remaining 50% is kept to yourself, it's not Affected by your DF (Similar to how Zoro was using Enma at First), this Results in:
Zoan Users only Accessing 50% of their Transformation,
Logia Users only Accessing 50% of their Elemental Form,
Paramecia Users only Accessing 50% of their Powers Influence,
That means when Zoan Users Awaken by letting their DF & Haki Fully Mix, They receive their Peak Transformation, (Unless Failed)
And when Paramecia Users Awaken by doing the Same, They get to let their Powers Affect way more Targets,
Finally, when Logia Users Awaken, what does it mean? It means their Elemental Form becomes "100% Pure"
The Fact that Logia Users can be Hit by CoA means They still have a Tangible Body, They still have 50% of their Haki that is not Transformed,
Compare them to Prometheus for example, did Haki work on it? Not at all, cuz it's Pure Fire even though it's Alive, it's only Endangered by it's Natural Counter (Such as Water),
Logia Awakening = Super Intangibility = Perfect Elemental Form = CoA is Useless.
I believe Crocodile, Ace, Enel & Admirals are Awakened & CoA is Useless against them (When They Activate Awakening ofc, not Always),
Only Haoshoku Haki or Natural Weakness can Counter an Awakened Logia going All Out.
