I’m seeing this guy being compared to First Mates such as Benn Beckman. This has got to be just an assumption from scalers.

Shiryu has done nothing?? Is there a vivre card for him saying such things to garner this speculation?

For the record I don’t see Zoro fighting him even of he is a swordsman. Sanji will. And we will see how he stacks up to a swordsman plus they can both go invisible…. But considering Sanji’s L streak he may get stuck fighting Burgess

Well, Magellan said if he was to go ahead and fight BB he would have won....and Magellan one shotted the entire crew xD i mean sure it was another time back then they didn't knew Magellan's power etc but he might be really strong

Shiryu is definitely overrated. I mean yes he is strong but probably not as strong as many think. There is no proof he is superior to guys like katakuri or king. He was considered equal to magellan but if he truly was, then why he(shiryu) was afraid of him? Many believe he is incredibly strong bc he is zoro's final opponent but thats just a speculation nothing more.

But Blackbeard was jobbing the first time he got taken out. IIRC he was talking shit before Magellan just washed his whole crew in one fell swoop.

The notion he will probably take on Zoro in a few arcs and the fight should not prove easy, plus on paper there are more reasons to believe Zoro will grow more substantially in the meantime.
