The Marines are the faction/group in the one piece world that represent "Justice", but that justice comes in various types. The disagreement in the type of justice that should be enforced led to the epic clash between two of the Marine's admirals, Kuzan and Sakazuki. But it doesn't stop there Justice has become an even bigger issue for the marines now with the emergence of Admiral Fujitora, The Purple Tiger.

“Justice” does not necessarily imply “right,” as I’m sure we all know...so regardless of how you identify, there’s no such thing as a wrong answer. “Whoever wins is true justice” and all that.

With that in mind, Fujitora’s outlook is the one I prefer - morality is not black and white, and plenty of people or things deemed immoral can fall closer to either end of the spectrum. Pirates are definitely portrayed (at least to regular citizens in the OP world) as “evil,” but our protagonists and many other seafaring characters can be classified as “ethical” based on their actions (usually benefitting the greater good over the self) whereas the Marines (the closest thing to a “moral” authority in the series) commit a litany of actions based on fear and suppression. Therefore, you can’t paint either side with as broad as brush as Akainu and others of his ilk would have everyone believe.

Absolute justice is a cool idea but it falls flat and is inconsistent. Why isn’t Akainu raiding the underground rape chambers of the CDs and doing away with their evil rule?! For all talk about evil, he is actually protecting rapists who walk the same hallways as he does in Mariegeoise

Killing your own men because they have a moment of weakness and are afraid for their lives (sure they enrolled knowing fights to the death could happen but fear is a normal human emotion) is nothing more than trash justice.

Akainu's justice is based on the fallacy that the pirates are all evil and the celestials scumbags have all rights.

So basically his trash justice leads him to kill citizens, his own men, having no problem with killing babies if their father were criminals and on the other side to allow the celestial scumbags to have slaves, to torture, rape, kill people because, well just because.

So in other term akainu himself is a piece of shit human trash can with a bullshit philosophy, a liar and a cheat son of a b.... and a fucking hypocrite. :myman:

Akainu.

Considering how brutal Pirates in the OP world are there isn't any place for remorse.

All Pirates should be deemed criminals, the whole "this one is good, this one is bad" won't work.
This is a good point

Like how would Akainu know whether or not innocents were killed and what if it ever occurred in the future had a pirate been kept alive or free either way

Fujitora is the type of person you want running things during times of peace.

But when you need to fight 4 monster pirates, you need Akainu at the helm making decisions of justice, otherwise you will end up doing stupid things like cutting ties with some of the strongest pirates in the world and sending marines to be slaughtered by the world's strongest swordsman.
