Eh it kinda does Luffy has often mocked his oponents either verbally or physically
I'm just saying it makes sense in the context of the fight as Luffy mocking Kaido's previous statements

Yes, he was enjoying the duel, but "are you having fun" was a clear taunt and callback to Kaido's own line

The “he was the coolest guy” line was definitely worse, but the only saving grace in Luffy’s case is the seeming expectation that Kaido & his men weren’t actually going to accomplish anything.

…Not that that makes it any better since it just made it feel more like a tea party than a climactic fight.
