I simply answered your question lol and on what basis are you saying shanks only clashed with Kaido. They definitely had a fight after which Kaido started respecting shanks as someone who can fight on par with him.

If they actually fought we'd definitely have heard of it or saw scars on one of them from it

Kaido underestimated oden. He didn't use FS and was fighting in dragon form. Against shanks he most likely was blocking his attacks.
