Zoro had training tool. Luffy's seemed to random where by getting hit once , luffy suddenly learns it.

I maybe in minority but I consider luffy awakening adv coc randomly worse than G5.

It’s both. Advanced CoC itself is rubbish because every user should be able to coat their attacks with it. Are they all stupid?

Anyway, it makes Rayleigh a moron for not telling Luffy it could be done.
Zoro didn’t even know he had regular CoC before leaping straight to it, so that’s even more egregious.
