General & Others Who’s beating up Rayleigh

#22
Oda had a chance to kill of Rayleigh in a self sacrifice scene and he didn’t.
That's not the worst thing ever, if anything it's pretty good, we get self sacrificing 10 times an arc. Him winning despite the odds would have been even better tho

I think Ray will go down at some point, but don't know to whom and when. Sengoku will probably survive till the end.
Not if he tries to save Garp
:zehaha:

Imagine we get a real Gaban fight before we get one for Rayleigh. Tho again admittedly Gaban being in elbaf is hypothetical as of now

There’s no reason for Rayleigh to die in a sacrfice, plenty of other major characters already fits that role way better. He’d probably just be chillin’ until the end of the story or fight in a fanservice type of way. He can defend Sabaody if ever WG invades it or something, maybe beat a Holy Knight.

Oda has too many top-tiers but too little screentime showing them fighting. As a means of giving characters like Mihawk, Greenbull, Dragon etc. some hype and on-screen fighting, the old gens like Rayleigh and Sengoku should be offered up

No one. Nobody strong enough really has a reason to go fight him. Rayleigh himself doesn't really involve himself in many conflicts. Outside of helping the sh's Rayleigh doesn't do much for him to be beaten. Only really bb has a reason to actually go fight Rayleigh but he doesn't take pointless risks for little gains.

For some reason epic top tier based man garling and his holy knights haven't even tried tracking down the right hand of the most important will of d guy in like decades(the century long enemies of the celestial dragons) almost like they weren't planned if they're strong the story won't make any sense at all(though the WG neglecting Rayleigh has always been a bit dumb)

Not really. Sengoku has a strong underused fruit and a narrative which had him leave his home and journey into the new world.

Rayleighs getting drunk in a bar
Everyone has their insane ability

Sengoku isn’t on the importance of Rayleigh who’s strongly connected to the MC + A big time pirate such as shanks and even the right hand of the idol the MC wants to be like.

Trained the MC and everything

not saying sengoku isn’t important either but he doesn’t have ties that are as important as Rayleigh’s + he is retired making him a former fleet admiral.

Rayleigh’s death would be more impactful for the story meanwhile Sengoku’s would be more impactful for the marines

Rayleigh was only relevant to train Luffy
Oda doesn't care much about him to move the plot outside of that

If Oda was a great writer,
Rayleigh should have fought Teach and get killed while Hancock gets to run away safely
