Beautiful, sweet, kind, with a sad backstory.
Could just as well be Nami.

She plays a role in the plot, fights opponents. She is clearly better than the character whose main point is to poke the reader's boobs in the face;
Nami's real role:

To me, that's not an attractive trait, but Nami also fights opponents: Luffy wanted her to flee, but she bravely fought Big Mom's army as well as Ulti. She didn't have many fights, but that's no different with Robin, it's a general problem with the Straw Hats (Chopper, Brook, Usopp).

Remember any minor moment nami after Time Skip? The only thing that comes to mind is "Luffy will be the king of pirates"
Yes, she was a crucial support for Luffy against Cracker and had many emotional, characterful moments (with Jinbei on FMI, Tashigi and the kids on PH or Sanji on WCI).

They both embody two different of kinds of archetypical female, equally fascinating:

Nami is youth, energy, sensuality incarnate. Someone whose vitality is overflowing and overwhelming.
Robin instead is class, mystery and conscius charm. Someone who’s more like an enigma to be grasped and whose attractrivness comes with her worldly experience and great intellect and sensitivity.
I can imagine the first as a juvenile, modern, open minded Scandinavian or North american with an indomable youthful spirit. The second as an alluring, mysterious and classy east/mediterranean european.
I think I’m the kind of person who would go more along with the second, but craves for the first (staying in the realm of the thought experiment, of course).

Aside from Egghead, Robin generally dresses modest compared to Nami. Idk what Oda was thinking with that
