Questions & Mysteries Who does the Gorosei want to "Cover up" their elimination?

#1
So during the conversation with the Gorosei, they make mention that in a battle involving Big Mom and Kaido, death could easily come for anyone.

What's interesting to note here, is they also say that it makes it the perfect "Cover up" to eliminate inconveniences. Now at first glance, it seems they could be talking about Robin, but when you think about it, that doesn't make any sense. First and foremost, they are expecting her to be in custody. Their orders were to capture her, not kill her. Not to mention, they don't need to "cover up" killing a pirate. They literally issue bounties, giving anyone a free pass to kill the person, and collect on their head.

The only time they would want to cover up killing someone, is if it was either an innocent civilian, or one of their own. The only one who fits this bill, would be X-Drake. CP-0 has already attacked him, despite that they should know he is actually a Marine, This could be a clue as to what X-Drake is searching for on Wano. Whatever it is, the Gorosei might not want him to find it. Other than Drake, I'm not sure who else on their side they would want to kill and cover up. What do you guys think? Is it X-Drake, or could it be someone else?

The main thing to remember is that the WG isn’t supposed to be in Wano, let alone in a place that shows an alliance with Kaido.

Im pretty sure they’re talking about Robin. If Robin is captured and Kaido and big mom win the war, eyebrows will be raised as to why the WG was their in the first place. However, if Robin is captured and is reported dead due to the War, then they can erase her from the board without any questions.

I doubt it, because they are talking about "If we strike, it should be now. Robin should already be in custody."

That infers, Robin was one objective, they should strike on the next objective, and get out of there.

Their agenda is to eliminate someone as per their statement, and again, Robin makes no sense, because if they wanted her dead, that would have been the order. Not to capture her first, then kill her.

Great observation, I also noticed it. I believe this is related to the purpose of the Gorosei's existence.

They're a group of people who apparently are inclined to maintain a level of diplomacy and balance in the world, and they're not necessarily seeking to be the only power or entity reigning. I say this because there was a panel of them showing remorse because they had to wipe Ohara out of the world, or also the fact that they were willing to establish peace with the Gyogins. Another example is that as an organization including the Marines, they're superior to the Yonkou, however they allow their existence too. As long as there is a balance they want everyone to have their place, the issue is when someone attempts to throw off this balance or could be a danger to the WG and it's secrets or power, then this person needs to be eliminated.

If we take this into account, then it makes sense why they don't want to be seen as if they are killing people tyrannically. It would compromise their reputation and purpose. Now, I don't know who is aware of the real nature of the Gorosei other than Shanks, who had no issues being there to discuss matters.

Imu is the ultimate force that they obey even if it goes directly against their personal ideals. I trully believe that this character is unstoppable and unbelievable cruel, thus Gorosei is trying to keep peace in their own terms. Although it's up to speculation what Imu is looking for.
There was a theory saying that the Gorosei were fighters who opposed Imu in the past, but after realizing that they're unable to do anything against him and to save the world and its inhabitants, they decided to surrender and obey to him and let him obtain whatever is that he wants in exchange of not destroying and killing everything.

For me its Who's Who or Drake.

WsW if the fruit they are talking about is Gomu Gomu, as he have some info on it and also on Nika who the WG seems to do everything they can to erase.

Drake because he is leader of SWORD who seems to operate outside WG ways and as a marine he would report about the CP0 doing deals with Kaido, what could even spark a civil war inside the Navy.

A curiosity, in the Spanish Viz translation they use "erase her" to seems like the Gorosei are talking about killing Robin.

It could be Who's Who, who they had as the one death they need to ensure during the chaos. They were also hoping Jinbe would eliminate him for them.

Or Drake. Likely Drake since, as a member of SWORD, he has more potential and story opportunities. CP0 knows Drake is undercover and would prefer if a third party Marine group they weren't aware of to be off the board, as it would create complications in their tenuous relationship with Navy proper.
