Doffy didn't want to get into a war with Kaido. It's not about clashing for 10 seconds. Primebeard himself didn't want to fight Kaido.

Jinbe clashed with a nerfed big mom. Kaido vs Doffy wouldn't be a war it would be utter stomp nothing like Primebeard who had a reason for not fighting Kaido
