Itachi killed entire clan but he didn't kill Sasuke is a terrible and selfish thing to do, all that mental torture Sasuke experienced as a kid by his brother. Either kill every clan member equally or don't, leaving Sasuke alone was nothing but torture for the kid.

Ace was selfish because insults towards WB hurt him. And he stood up to Akainu for his own pride in a moment when he should’ve been running away. It was beyond someone acting without thinking, this was pure idiocy on his part to turn around and fight Akainu while everyone else was urging him to escape

And thats Ace's own business. When he asked WB to fight Kaido, Marco told him about casualties then Ace asked he would go alone.
Ace can't be hold responsible for that when he consistently told WB pirates and Luffy to gtfo and don't save him.
