But if we're strictly talking anime, probably Dragon Ball.

Pokémon is easily the biggest franchise on the list but it is a successful game series that happens to also have a successful anime adaptation. It even has a successful live action film. Pokémon is practically its own genre by this point. It represents itself.

So as the face of anime is concerned, I would go with Dragon Ball.
