Pure intellect, as in IQ, it's Chopper or Franky. Just look at their knowledge reserved and what they do with it, and you will understand why this is the case.

There is a reason why the saying is "rocket science" for something difficult, because that thing is peak level human intelligence.

Everybody is nuts to say Robin. When is Robin doing anything intelligent?

Usopp and Sanji are much more intelligent than her.

Robin has an extensive knowledge of history and cultures and is able to read the poneglyphs. She is clever and always well informed. But that doesn't make her the smartest person on the crew to me. The reason why most voted for her is maybe because she seems the most intelligent due to her mature personality, while the others sometimes act like insane people who escaped from a mental institution, most notably Sanji.
I voted for Franky though because not only was he able to understand Vegapunk's technology, he was able to replicate it. I would even say he is a scientific genius, as he was able to devise a cannon-like mechanism that rapidly accumulates air in a confined space before releasing it as a compressed air-based projectile powerful enough to destroy large facilities and a represents an excellent means of propulsion ("Coup De Vent").
He may act like a clown at times, but he's not naive. He has shown himself to be a good tactician in battle and a master of naval architecture. To say that Robin is the most intelligent would be the same as saying that Shanks is more intelligent than Vegapunk.

Chopper is more gullible than Luffy, I'll never understand how people rank him at the top. He's competing with Luffy as the dumbest strawhat, he has 1 field he excels at he's retarded in every other way.
Chopper has already shown how smart he can be in many situations that don't involve medicine.
-In Alabasta,he was able to understand Mr 4 's abilities and fighting style and how dangerous they are through observation. He even thought of a way to use the battlefield and the opponent's own abilities against themselves.
-On the way to Jaya,he deduced that the seagulls that fell on the ship were shot from somewhere ahead the ship that was not yet visible on the horizon. None of the gang believed in him,but he was right.
-In Skypiea,he understood how Gedatsu's attack Swamp Cloud Burger works and how dangerous it is by watching he use it against his own subordinate.
-In Whole Cake,he was the one who made the plan to take over the mirrors worls for the gang to use for the rest of the arc.(Some people seriously think it was thanks to Larrot? Bruh!)
The problem is that Lolda rarely makes him use this intelligence.

True it's hard to think of Chopper as anything but a plush toy these days, Oda shit on Chopper the hardest out of any character post timeskip.

He had the strength to take out a priest in Skypiea and CP9 in W7. And it's ok for him to fall behind the deeper we get into the grand line, but still, Oda didn't have to turn him into a muppet.

Saddest downfall.

robin was a genius child, just having that epithet puts her above all the muguis.

then you have franky, whose greatest gift is to understand and use the advances of the most prodigious mind of the verse.
then chopper, a doctor, then sanji.

Does anyone seriously doubt that Robin is the smartest by far?

read all (or have someone correct me) ohara's books, at the age of 8 he was already more intelligent by knowledge, aptitudes and cognition than all the doctors on the island, totally self-taught.

put robin to read about medicine and he learns medicine, put robin to read about mechatronics and he learns it, but you can't say it backwards, franky or chopper couldn't emulate what robin did

it's a bit irrelevant
many people with an average IQ, with effort and dedication can learn rocket science, if you ask me, the peak of human knowledge is quantum mechanics, difficult even among scientists themselves.

Anyway, pure IQ is franky and chopper I agree, but why not robin? robin dominated that line at its peak, that the story does not demand more of robin is another thing entirely

The Chopper downplaying baffles me. People who ask, "how does the 'weak trio' catch up to the mid trio," forget (1) Usopp's comment at the start of postskip refers to bounties, (2) Chopper's portrayal exceed Nami and Usopp's (see when Chopper took over for Nami in the Kumadori fight), (3) had better portrayal than Robin (see Skypiea match-ups and who was selected for the Groggy Ring), and (4) had better portrayal than even Franky (Kumadori was stronger than Fukurou)!

My honest ranking for the weaker six is, Chopper > Franky > Brook > Robin > Nami (w/ gadget) > Usopp (w/ gadgets)

Hope this is satire.

Robin/Nami > Franky/Chopper > Franky > Sanji > Jinbei > Usopp > Zoro > Luffy

Robin is book smarts. Shes a reader, linguist, and archaeologist.
Nami is street smarts. She has to rely on 100% of her brain faculties for her battles of do or die.
Franky is a skilled surgeon. If you can operate on yourself without a medical degree, then fuck me silly, you def not stupid.
Chopper is below Franky cuz hes a gullible doctor.

The rest are self-explanatory.

Nami is a genius from childhood and navigation is an exact science. Robin simply has a good memory but she has never been clever, people confuse intelligence with memory.

Yeah no. Robin just can't read a book and learn and practice any discipline.

Robin is so overrated lol

You have Nami with her knowledge of meteorology, cartography and physics, Franky with his advanced engineering skills, both of them with plenty of street smarts too, but Robin knowing an ancient language and reading books makes her smarter by default?

Rly depends on what aspect of intelligence we focus on. Robin's book smart and the most knowledgeable SH. In terms of logical intelligence, Franky and Chopper are unrivaled. In terms of deductive and analytical skills, it's Nami and Robin. In terms of tactical intelligence, it's Sanji. If we talk abt experience and street smarts, it's Jinbe. When it comes to thinkin outside the box, it's Usopp.

The ones who could prob outsmart anyone else on this list in "real life" situations are Jinbe, Sanji and Usopp. But in terms of pure IQ, Franky's prob above everyone else.

And ofc, Luffy and Zoro aren't intelligent per se but they have their own intellectual skills. Luffy has amazing social intelligence and Zoro's the one with the most common sense.

Franky : could turn himself into a cyborg and create world ending weapons without even trying
Usopp : can create a weapon that can store an infinite amount of weather eggs, that's some Vegapunk level skill
Chopper : became a doctor at the age of 15 and specializes in every medicinal field
Robin : book smart
Nami : natural genius
Jinbe : because of his race, he knows pretty much everything about the ocean, can even call him an oceanographer
Sanji : studied how to cook and because he is a cyborg his IQ is above average
Brook : he was some kind of knight or something, so he must have studied
Zoro : pretty stupid but he has some commonsense
Luffy : pretty stupid
