It´s not really a coincidence that of all the major factions, CG is the only one not really being given any prominence in Elbaf, either through flashbacks or the present, while the GK, BBP, Marines, RHP, RA´s and SHP all did get some stuff. Oda is going to rush to an ending soon, I don´t really think he´s going to spend time developing CG much, and the focus will probably remain on the main 3 who currently are in the group.
CG is also set up in a specific way where Crocodile is the one who made the plans, the ideas for it, he´s the one Buggy called out for ¨giving up¨ on his dream of getting the OP. I´m pretty skeptical you´d have a character join the group who would threaten Croco´s position in the crew. You could either have: Weevil, who is dumb, or Moria, who is weak and both could be bullied by Croco. But a smart strong character like Law or Kata? They´re just not going to want to listen to the guy in general.

That was all the way back in WCI bro. Oda probably scrapped whatever plans he had for Weevil tbh. Unless you subscribe to my theory that Weevil got hostage diffed by Aramaki, Weevil clearly isn’t gonna be very relevant if he’s low diff material for an Admiral. All that Weevil really has to offer is his strength, which apparently isn’t even that great
Aramaki is simply way stronger than people give him credit for.
Also, as said in the past I don't think hostages were involved but I don't think It was a full out 1vs1 either.

Oda can offer some nuance, but it´s ultimately in the readers mind that an admiral could deal with him pretty easily, alongside the fact that he hasn´t really done much to live up to his hype.
Fwiw, I do also scale him above Marco, but that´s slowly not going to mean much, there´ll be plenty of characters who can claim that by the end game
