Chapter Discussion Who would win without CP0 intervention?

Just wanted to see thoughts on this. Cause to me, powerscaling wise and reactions from both Kaido and Luffy, it seems Kaido definitely had the upper hand.
But if that's the case, why was their a need to have CP0 intervene? Why the parallel to Oden? If Luffy wasn't about to win, then this was a pointless addition.

Well Luffy is not out yet maybe, I don't know. Wonder what happens next. He might win regardless but I hope Oda will be more consistent and allow the Grandmaster to sustain his captain.

to me it’s clear luffy was gonna lose but Oda couldn’t have him lose 1v1 cuz then kaido would be alone with luffy and logically have to follow up and kill him and declare his victory as he said in 1013 so instead of giving kaido a clean victory he gets another oden type win that may now put us in a flashback or learn more about him etc idk there just my guess but I feel pretty confident that’s the reason why oda had cp0 intervene because people would complain kaido should of followed through etc

the attack would've nulified each other and then Luffy would lose Haki, meaning Kaido would capture Luffy, CP0 made sure Luffy gets direct hit from one of strongest attack so Luffy would die
