Why are Oda's Japanese characters white looking?

#22
What? I think you are forgetting multiracial people. But Japan treats them like an anomaly as well. They are just obsessed like the rest of the world with pale skin
What multiracial people you are talking here about? Give me please example. Japanese race are asian, white people, same thing goes with china

Only some gyaru make their skin tan, so yeah their skin looking darker but that's gyaru haha

Now if you want to talk about some exceptional of rules such as line from different race, those people called in Japan as hafu. And imagine less then 2% in whole Japan are hafu. So again, where I'm wrong? Japanese people will be never considered dark skinned.
So Oda is not racist it's you guys want to dictate your own rules to asian countries. While asia don't care about your desires, petitions etc.

Tsuru seemed like how women are usually drawn in Japanese paintings. Imo she looked pretty and the most unique. While Kiku the most beautiful imo had somewhat Japanese features.

I don’t see how someone is drawn white exactly? unless they’re blond or naturally red headed like Sanji and Nami, most One Piece characters don’t look natural to associate them with a specific race or country.

Like what makes Zoro white to you? He has green hair which is unnatural. Not to mention he’s not pure Wano person. Both his parents are not from Wano and only his grandmother from father’s side is.
How can you call Oda racist against the japanese after the 150 chapters long trash called Wano
I know right? Like please don’t test Oda’s love for his country or he will make Wano return. I am traumatized.

Bro, you're Albino. White's in ya name dude.:luuh:
It's a manga lil bro it ain't dat deep
Buggy is just trolling here. He is making fun of Shiroyru's thread about Oda being racist cause his black characters are supposedly failing the melanin count.

https://worstgen.alwaysdata.net/forum/threads/why-are-oda’s-black-characters-super-lightskin.59217/

Shiroyru be out there calculating the melanin per square inch levels to calculate if Aokiji can wield the N-word pass. :josad:

Cool, but it was official comercial vid from China. As I said people in USA somehow believe that whole world will listen rules of USA, but imagine this: China, Japan, Russia, Iran and other big countries never ever cared how USA people feel about something. I know this is crazy, that reality is different then world that CNN created in their minds, but who cares? XD

Why do you assume Oda doesn't see his characters are Japanese-looking by default?

They are caricatures, they don't look caucasian nor asian. And even when they do because they're based on real people, readers may misidentify their race, e.g. Kuzan or Kizaru seen as black in spite of being portraits of Japanese actors. So imagine how hard it is to establish the race of a more cartoonish design.

It unironically was.

What was the arc's underlying theme and goal?

Opening up the boarders. It is clearly Oda saying he supports the ending of Japan's Isolationist policies and opening it's boarders to the West circa 1850s.

Oda rejects his own country's feudal past, and embraces modernization. That is why he made oden, the shogun of wano, such an abysmal character.
That doesn't make Oda racist, Japan, just like Wano, wasn't always isolated.
