Controversial Why are people so skeptical of Zolo's dream?

Zolo grew up in a swordsman village where only swords and duels mattered. Ever since he was a kid all he saw was swordsmen and dojo.

Why can't people comprehend that he simply wants to be the best?

It's not because of a promise, Zolo simply wants to be the best of them all.

Nami's dream is to create a world map because she liked maps and navigation ever since a kid.

Why can't zolo be just like her?

Why does that equal to killing Mihawk though? Like I never understood that. Both him and Zoro always talk like it's a duel to the death to the point Zoro expected to die in their first skirmish.

But to take a title you just need to beat someone. Surely theres more to his goal than is being mentioned.
