Controversial Why are people thinking that we are going to Lodestar Island next?

Lodestar is not made for the Strawhat Pirates imho.

It makes more sense for a faction like the Cross Guild to go there and learn about how to find Lough Tale.

Both Teach and Luffy are most likely on a journey beyond Lodestar Island already.

Why do people think we are going to Lodestar next? Or how do people mean this should play out?

I think this could be a mini-mini arc for Buggy, but not for Luffy and co as the panel above proves.

"that island"
:PepeReport:

ngl, I wouldn't mind a 10 chapter mini arc with Buggy and Cross Guild on Lodestar after Elbaf, but without the Strawhats. They should imho go to the sky.
I don't think Oda has the time for either of those. Like he said, once the flashback ends, the rest of the Elbaf arc will go by pretty fast, and then the SHs go to Lodestar, where a lot of encounters happen. He's likely streamlined the story again to get us to Laugh Tale as soon as possible, since there's still the entire Final War to go through, which alone should take a couple of publishing years.

That would fuck up the entire meaning of what Inuarashi said in the panel. I wouldn't like it. I am not even believing that he will wrap up Elbaf that quickly. It might be like Hachinosu in Egghead where we make a detour to Buggy and Lodestar and they figure out the route to Lough Tale or so. We will still have an Urouge arc before all of the Lough Tale stuff most likely, even if it's a small mini arc.

When Oda says he wants to progress things faster, then it most likely means that he plans to open the gates to Lough Tale next year imho.

Pop over to the other thread. There are a lot of speculations you might enjoy.

I've already written a little about what a theoretical Lodestar arc could be like over here:
https://worstgen.alwaysdata.net/for...rc-be-the-final-war.74101/page-2#post-6397013
(Uh...it's the last "chunk". Keep scrollin'. It starts with "So, final bet time". I do tend to go on.)

But, outside of that little fanfic where Blackbeard and Shanks' fight causes a new Demon King to form, there are a few other things we could see with a Lodestar arc.

There's some theories that Lodestar may contain the ruins of the Ancient Kingdom. So, for that reason alone, it may be more interesting to visit than you might think.

Lodestar might be a chance for Oda to give us at least part of the Void Century flashback. The Void Century flashback is likely to be another pretty long one. I am imagining it could rival the God Valley flashback in terms of length. So, Oda may either split in into different parts, so he can kind of feed us details over the course of Lodestar, Laugh Tale, and whatever may come afterward. So that we don't do it all at once. Or Oda could give us a "outline" of Robin's interpretation of the True History, before we fill in some of the gaps that we could learn on Laugh Tale. A simplified "fairy tale" version of the Void Century history that Robin's learned from all the Poneglyphs, before we learn the truth on Laugh Tale.

Lodestar may also be necessary. It may not be as "optional" as we think. Personally, I'm kind of imagining that you have to do something on Lodestar in order to literally point your way to Laugh Tale. You may have to activate some machine, or find special instructions on a wall, somewhere to learn how to get to Laugh Tale. Kind of like in a video game, where you have to put all the magic gems in a pedestal in order to activate a magic beam of light that literally points your way to the next quest? Something like that, in my mind.

It's also possible that Lodestar could be the island where Ace and Whitebeard's graves are. Lodestar and Sphinx could be a Elbaph and Warland situation, one is a smaller part of a larger island. That's not confirmed, it's just a theory. But, if it was, it would give Luffy a chance to say goodbye to Ace one last time, before heading out into the True Final Arc. It could be a nice little emotional moment.

So, I feel there is stuff we could do on Lodestar. Especially if The Man Marked By Flames is there, alongside the last Road Poneglyph. Even if a lot of it IS a lot of "summary" of what we already know. A "summary" island would give Oda a chance to get the readers back up to speed on what's going on. Not everyone who reads One Piece is as into it as we are. There's probably a lot of people who weren't even BORN yet, when some of these plot threads were introduced. So giving a chance for more readers to catch up by summarizing what we know wouldn't be the worst thing ever. We kind of already got that on Egghead, but we could do it again...as long as Oda keeps it pretty short.

But, we'll see. It's not confirmed to be Lodestar next. But, I do think Lodestar is the most likely option. It does seem to be what Oda is hinting about.
