Break Week Why did becoming PK became a Side Quest?

#21
It's clear that king of the world>>> PK + it's obvious after Luffy's obsession for food and ALL the speech about eating as much as you want Said both on beginning and end of wano that Luffy's true dream is about food.

He either wants to end starvation or throw the biggest party ever where everyone eats.

Lackluster dreams with lackluster final, but isn't this what shonen is about??? Great stories with shit endings.

To be fair, I seem to recall that conversation between Luffy and Rayleigh where Luffy waxed lyrical about how he associated the title of Pirate King with freedom and that the PK was the freest man in all the world so he wanted to be that man.

Why he believes that or what he even personally perceives this freedom to be, I have no idea but that is what he believes so in that regard, becoming Pirate King was always something of a stepping stone for Luffy. Luffy wants to be free (whatever that means) and he thinks he needs to be Pirate King to achieve that.

Well, that and finishing his dick measuring grudge match with Shanks that started all those years ago. :milaugh:
