Why is it that Robin takes the damage from whatever limbs she sprouts? Luffy doesn’t take damage when he turns things to rubber, Big Mom doesn’t take the damage of her homies, Katakuri doesn’t take the damage of his awakened Mochi. Why nerf Robin her fruit is less busted than a ton of others?

I think they got it in Wano, Oda just didn't revealed yet and he is probably waiting to confirm it in a Vivre Card (thats what he did for most of Wano characters anyway)

Robin's fruit is theoritically pretty OP, that's why it got "balanced" with that kind of weakness. Otherwise Robin can just free hit people on the balls, on the eyes, again and again then win.

Oda is shackled by the notion of "balancing" the SH, like only around a third or a half users of DF, Haki, and Science.

Because Robin's power is producing actual bodyparts. Therefore she's vulnerable to damage and injury. But in exchange, there's vast potential with her abilities. For instance, using her eye to see in areas that she wouldn't normally reach or creating ladder of hands, etc.

Just to show he is balancing. It doesn't make any sense though. I mean what is dmg to a large leg?If a large hand can lift a large vehicle does that mean its her strength? And any minor dmg to any of the parts results in dmg to her? If so does the dmg need to be scaled? Big hand needs more damage scaled accordingly? In the end it was just use as an easy stopper to limit its usage from writing point of view only but it wont be followed.

Yeah I always thought Robin would get CoA and be proficient in it. It doesn’t make sense for anyone on the SH crew to not have haki.

Because her ability is to grow her own body parts which she is clearly connected to, being able to see and hear through them as well as feel when she touches something. Stands to reason she also feels the pain and damage.
You can't find other examples because there are no similar fruits to hers

Robin creates her own body in other places and they are connected to her, reason of why she can hear things if she creates an ear afar. Reason she can have multiple partners.
