Why did Oda make Ideo job to Dellinger?
Especially when Dellinger was one shot almost immediately afterwards? That was so pointless

Ideo Should have defeated him otherwise why make him a part of the Strawhat Fleet?
I guess his intent was to show the Doffy family's superiority over a vast multitude of less relevant characters and it took Kyros, the SHs etc to start breaking that chain.

Because Oda is a limited author.
His "go to" way to "hype" an enemy is making this enemy defeat someone "strong", even if that fucks up that person's powerscaling.
It's easy. It's flashy. That's why.

LMAO why would he care about powerscaling

If you paid attention, Chinjao sent him flying on order to reach Luffy. Assuming that he doesn't get stronger like the narration seems to indicate, the point is that the grand fleet is about numbers. 5600 men with about 20 at VA level or higher means Luffy will come out of Wano with about as much force as anyone out there
