General & Others Why did the Wano anime fall off in Quality like this

#10
Not trying to defend toei but cmon they have a lot of fight endings to animate in a row right now ( Sanji vs Queen, Zoro Vs. King, Law+Kid Vs BM and Luffy vs Kaido)

So they have a lot of work because these fights happen one after another.

I'm pretty sure the top animators are already working on these finales for a long time.

the theory is that everyone at Toei is saving up for Luffy vs Kaido but this has been going on for like a year. This aura and lazy animation nonsense I mean.

Are we to assume they Toei needed to save over a year’s worth of animation budget for the Luffy vs Kaido finale?
Bruh, its called weekly anime. There are going to be highs and lows.

Its been pretty consistent in terms of the animation I'd say considering how intensely action heavy this portion of the arc is.

And how is the "aura" stuff synonymous with lazy animation or a quality drop???

Those aren't the same thing.

This is definitely a weaker episode, but the last year has had some of the most best peaks the anime has ever seen. Despite how insanely action heavy its been, the animation has mostly held up and then some.

It’s the fights though. The fights of the main characters too.

if they are skimping on main character fights then
They aren't though?

Its a production tight spot, but they're also prioritizing the most important scenes from those fights.

Zoro vs King just isn't a very big fight most of the time. It only really picks up after the Enma stuff starts happening.(and even then the fight already had a good start in 1046 when Zoro returned)

The animation is fine, it's just that Toei doesn't like Zoro, so when it comes to him on onigashima, they send the most nondescript animators (Except for episode 1046, because Sanji is there, and he must be animated). What to talk about when Sanji gets an extended fight against disasters with cool animation and direction, and Zoro slideshows in the style of dragon ball or worse

Slow pace, meaningless dragonball auras and so many colorful scenes that you cant distinquish what is really happening.
Does anyone actually watches the anime anymore? I do the same thing for years, choosing what i want to see. Its been bad for at least 10 years now and will stay as such. So yes the quality didnt drop. It was always low.

Wtf are you talking about?

Zoro has had a metric fuck ton of great animation on Onigashima lol. They even gave him extra scenes of him doing stuff like being the one to send Big Mum off the cliff that weren't in the manga. Zoro got as good as any character on the rooftop in 1017, and even the highlights for much weaker episodes like 1016 and 1018 were specifically Zoro related.

Like, even the animator who did Hells Memories two episodes ago, he literally was the same guy who animated the Asura scene.(even though the compositing for that one was bad, the aura is much nicer in the original genga, btw, this is a bit out of order)
Its just that this portion doesn't focus on him as much.

Even so, its likely the next few episodes will be the production heating up for the final episodes of Sanji and Zoro's battle.
