Break Week Why didn't Kaido throw Onigashima into the sea?

Kaidou didn't want to "defeat everyone".
He wanted to have a Great Fight and wanted his side to win.

Onigashima was an arc which was built with too much BS plot so that Kaidou loses.
He had the chance to kill Luffy multiple times, yet Luffy kept coming back after 3 separate defeats thanks to plot.

If he had, all his enemies would have died.

At least it makes more sense than the nonsense of bringing the island to Wano
- maybe he must drop it at Wano since it will expose Pluton, otherwise levitating Onigashima will be a waste

- he cant concentrate and give his full power since he is being attacked by the alliance mainly Luffy etc

There should always be plausible reasons for characters to do things, unfortunately Oda doesnt give enough damn to emphasize it

Knowing that Kaido was initially concerned about the damage being caused to the island, he didn't want to harm it more than the battle already had. Thus, landing Onigashima multiple times (twice) instead of just once (the final destination, Flower Capital), would result in immeasurable destruction. This is because:

  • The entire battlefield was scattered with gunpowder, and the impact of the island hitting the ground would trigger small explosions all over the island, as reported by Yamato.
  • We have Kaido's super bombs, which Yamato took care to freeze to prevent an explosion larger than Onigashima from occurring.
  • Upon landing, the island, which had already been releasing rocks due to the weakening flames that surrounded it, would be further damaged. Landing it not just once in the sea, but also transporting it again to the capital at the end of the war, totaling 2 landings.
  • All the Beast Pirates and their soldiers are situated on the island, as well as treasures, maps, and everything else. Landing the island, which contains Devil Fruit users, most of whom cannot fly, and submerging it in water would effectively put an end to what he built over 20 years. His soldiers would be completely incapacitated, and they could die from drowning, with flying individuals being the exception.
  • Kaido is proud and doesn't accept excuses; he won't blame the island, even if it's killing him. That's just how he is.
But to sum up, Kaido's ability to transport an island is the most overpowered when it comes to large-scale battles. Kaido could use his cherished toy and wouldn't have to worry about losses, considering that those present on the island were nothing more than enemies.

No one in MF can prevent Kaido from levitating Marineford, and no one can stop him from blowing it into 1000 pieces with a Flaming Bagua. :myman:

Kaido is one of the few characters capable of altering the geography of the world. :kayneshrug:

But thinking about it, Kaido was insane with the idea of landing the island in the capital; this would automatically trigger the scattered gunpowder and the bombs that basically cause an explosion at the island's level. This wouldn't just kill the fodder, as Big Mom pointed out in chapter 999, but it would wipe out everyone. Lmao.

Unless, of course, Kaido had another way to land the island and prevent these events from occurring. If Kaido was at this level of mental insanity, he would have drowned everyone in the sea, that's undoubtedly Oda's BS.
