Hey Guys.

There is something in my head and i dont find a really good solution so far, so i thought i share my thoughts.

We all remember the iconic speach of Whitebeard (may this legend rest in peace!) to Teach and, even more important, to the World:

"The man roger was waiting for,at the very least, it's not you teach.
Just as there are people who inherited roger's will...
Someday one will carry ace's will...
You may eradicate their bloodline, but their flame never dies...
For many ages, it has been passed down through the generations...
And someday, bearing the weight of all these generations,a man will appear to challenge this world...
Sengoku, you people of the World Government are living in fear of that great battle that will someday engulf the entire world...
Though it has nothing to do with me... When somebody finds that treasure... The world will be turned upside down!
It will be found! That day will come!
ONE PIECE! IS OUT THERE!”

I still get goosebumps when i remember that Moment.

But back to Topic. Whitebeard is mentioning roger was waiting for someone, "bearing the weight of all these generations,a man will appear to challenge this world...". So i came to the question: Why wasnt Roger THAT man?

He knew the history of the world, about the lost Age, he knew the One Piece, he was the greatest pirate of his time, incredible strong, sorrounded by incredible man... Why didnt turned he the world upside down? What was he waiting for?

I came to just 3 possible Solutions:


1. The Moment he got all the Information the needed knowledge, he was already sick, to sick to declare this war.

2. He knew he would Need a way bigger army then whats is on the pirate side for that time, thats why it was important to him to spread the Information about the One Piece, to build this legendary. Just to build up the pirates, to create a pool of Government-Enemys big enough to take on a war against Mary Geoise. If it is like that, than Roger was waited for a man which is able to controll These Forces, to bring them under one flag against the way to big Government.

3. Roger was waiting for a Special Kind of man, which doesnt needed to be Luffy, but has the same circumstances as Luffy. On the deep ground, this war will be, when we would follow Mingos words, Devils vs. Gods, or like we they see them: Bearers of the D. vs Celestrials Dragons. Maybe, Roger was waiting for a man which isnt only one, he was waiting for someone which is both. It is still possible that Luffy got his Devilpart from his father and the Godpart of his mother. This must be pretty much forbidden and will open quite a dispute in the world, depending on the Lost Age. But... was is this Roger was waiting for?


What do you guys think, why did Roger wait for someone and didnt took that war in his own Hands?

The only logical answer to me is that his military might was not enough to free the world from the tenryuubito, not mentioning his sickness.

- The Three ancient weapons were created by the D clan because the combined powers of these are needed to take em down, and Shirahoshi was not born while Pluton is somewhere hidden.

Roger had Uranus, Shiki said that he found an apocalyptic weapon.

Then how is Shirahoshi "Created by the D Clan" and how did Roger know she will be Born?

Yes,military might,is the answer imo. He knew that with his forces he couldn't take down the WG.
On that regard Luffy is better and more alike to WB .
Or maybe because Roger is an asshole and couldn't care less.(see skypeia&bell for example)

They went too early
Meaning maybe there is a prophecy of when the chane must comes

Also roger was sick and had no allies, this is why luffy will succeed because of his many allies

- He had about 2 years left to live
- He had no preparation to take on the World Government. Unlike Luffy who will have a whole organization led by his father dedicated to taking down the World Government backing him up.

But ultimately as Rayleigh said, the answer they came up with was just not the one to take the WG on directly at that time. So we will have to see what that answer was.


Now Roger did turn the world upside down though, he started the great pirate age.

Probably because it was too early and because he was dying of his illness.
It's also possible that Roger knew that he wasn't good enough of a man to serve as a model/leader against the Celestial Dragons, Gorousei and Imu as he had done many terrible things himself like massacring the soldiers of a country just because some of them didn't talk well to his crewmates or killing Squardo's crew.

Oda didn't let him. Rocks + Roger + Garp could have destroyed Mariejois.

Perhaps part of what the CDs do is try to saw dispute amongst pirates and keep themselves in power. There surely must be some bribery system in place to fund the moles hidden in each pirates crew.
