Why do we face young villain during the OP series ?

how come luffy dont face young age opponent ?
Big Mom 68 kaido 58 kata 48 crocodile 46 . But luffy will be pk or wk at just 21 . This age scala just confusing and terrible . Like bigmom was defeated because she is too old . Shanks become yonko at 33 34 . Kidd and law become yonkou just 26 . How can we create sense about it :)

The short answer: it's a shounen

Geezers are enemies and people of same age are either companions or rivals. Its the same with Black Clover or Bleach. Naruto is similair too.

Young villains usually, usually come off as entitled, often potentially dangerous, but lack a hardcore aura of self-assuredness making them whiny.

Luffy had Bellamy as an opponent before though... Minor opponent but yeah... The younger they are, the less experience and influence they have especially if they start late... And Luffy is targeting the best of the best... It's still impossible for them to win, but this is shonen, MCs are full of plot armors...

I would like to highlight that there were some younger people in Doffy's team, but overall I agree that this is a shonen manga depicting young generation vs old generation. Same like with any other fiction where you have teenage-young adult protagonists, e.g. in Harry Potter the concept was of Harry and his friends defeating the guy who was older than their parents. Or Avatar:The Last Airbender - same concept, young Aang vs lord Ozai coming from a previous generation. It also works as a coming-of-age story, so you have young characters battle with the established way of things and finding their place in the big world.

Oda's age thing is weird, especially when it comes to age grouping.

Luffy and them boys are simply an anamoly. No character has ever been as strong as them at the age they're at.

Lucci and doffy, it is also hard to find a villain in thier 20s since luffy is supposed to be the genius

Doffy is 41. But on point with Lucci.
