Thats why they usually hate Luffy as result of their extremist ZKK headcanons because of Luffy's superiority. Its a special case, because their idol would die for Luffy and gave up on his dreams for Luffy's dreams but they still hate Luffy even though their own idol would slap their mouth for talking shit about Luffy.

Imagine a scenario where ZKKclowns hating and talking shit about Luffy, then Zolo hears those ZKKclowns and tells them to stfu and don't talk shit about his captain. :milaugh:

If ZKKclowns were really Zolo fans, they would never talk shit about Luffy, and they would respect Luffy as Zolo respects Luffy.

Sasuke and Kakashi were stronger than Naruto for a long time. Guy was always stronger. Rock Lee possibly if he gets the 8 gates too?

Gohan always stronger than Goku.

Itadori is just being the strongest by now.

Ichigo only became the strongest by the end of Aizen Arc.

Baki was constantly improving and surpassing people.

Ippo despite beating his "main" rival early on still was seeing as underdog (never understood that shit).

Eren was just the strongest when he got the prime titan or whatever.

Kanjiro just became the strongest while fighting Muzan.

Ash just beated League now and was always losing to Gary the whole time.

Need something else?

Are you still denying that Zoro left timeskip levels above Luffy?
Post TS Zoro is basically Rooftop Zoro, post TS Luffy is Dressrosa Luffy.
Luffy got WCI and Udon to lessen the gap, and finally with G5 Luffy seems to be above again, but at same time Zoro also got KoH.

Well but the point is, post TS Zoro is levels above post TS Luffy, stop pretending that Zoro is never above Luffy. Just like at some point, Erza was also stronger than Natsu. Sesshomaru was, is, and will always be stronger than Inuyasha. Ash's Charizard was stronger than Pikachu. Patamon's digievolution was stronger than Agumon's.

Thing with Ichigo is people stronger than him, Kyoraku, Urahara, Yamamoto, Unohana etc are never part of Ichigo's main group.
They are allies like what Shanks and Dragon in OP, so Ichigo remains the strongest in his group. Chad, Ishida, Renji are never stronger than Ichigo.

The series where main character is not the strongest in his little group is Erza at earlier arcs of FT, Charizard in Ash's group, Patamon's evolution gave bigger impact than Agumon's in OG Digimon.

As for the topic, Zoro is not stronger than Luffy and neither is Luffy stronger than Zoro. Oda made it pretty fucking clear from the start. That's why they had that draw at WP, kill this stupid notion that either is stronger than the other.
I know some Zorofans say this but majority don't, it is just the backlash when you get stupid arguments like muh MC, when in feats against same opponent at same power level Zoro has looked arguably better to the point that RT has been called fanservice etc., even this Lucci fight, the neutrals say that Zoro looked better if not equal.
This is the thing, Luffy will always clown and get clowned while Zoro will look cool, at the end of the day in terms of power scaling they will remain equal.
As for your shonen trope thing, guess what, OP is not the most shonen type manga, which other manga has a core characters structure like SHPs? And Oda has tried to show this throughout the manga, why does someone as strong as Zoro follow Luffy?

Honestly I tried using the debate on why Zoro's Strong than Luffy in some Whatsapp group I looked like a clown. I just embarrassed myself
