Character Discussion Why do you like Mihawk?

#22
Mihawk himself is a pretty dragon-ass tier penalty bladm character, not worth attention beside his design.
I like him however as he brings me extreme amusement through headcanon essays here, one thread entails more words than oda ever spend thinking about him through proxy zoro wank
Bluddies still saying his databook draft name while if you would ask oda he would not know what the bluddies talkg about :risitasad: Also shanks fan get mad about him which is als funny

I mean outside of just being a cool character with a badass design, I’m very interested in what his lore is.

He represents the suffering from success/lonely at the top type and I’m looking forward to seeing how he reached that and how Oda handles it.

Why his origins are still classified as ‘unknown’ in the vivre card?

How his rivalry with Shanks began?

Who are some of the notable swordsmen he defeated on his journey?

How his grudge for the marines began which led to him hunting them?

What was the ‘great betrayal’ that he suffered?

Lots of potential there.

I only root for him because he's Zoro's goal and his end game opponent tbf :risisweat:
As a character I prefer Fujitora and Shanks more but I will still say Mihawk is stronger than them :Gaban_Smug:
At least you admit it lol

Dunno why Zoro fans try to hit the OP community with a mass genjutsu like we don’t know the reason

They coincidentally make up 95% of Mihawk’s fanbase but apparently their respect for him has nothing to do with Zoro

It would be like Luffy fans trying to convince people that they praise Roger like no other simply because they like the character and not because he represents Luffy’s goal

I think Mihawk has a lot of potential as a character (Marine Hunter, implied betrayal by Oda, potential tie to Imu, etc) but very few of his current fans care about that

There are a handful of people that genuinely enjoy Mihawk with little to no agenda involved though. There are a few WorstGen regulars among them actually

It's because he's from the Nerona family, Mihawk is a royal noble,... it remains unknown because Imu is still unknown, once Imu and everything about the Nerona family are revealed, only then will more be known about Mihawk

How his rivalry with Shanks began?

Mihawk was at Roger's execution, which means he heard of him or maybe knew him,... this makes Mihawk interested in the genius of his crew, who is Shanks, even Gaban called Shanks the chosen one,... Mihawk proved that Shanks wasn't the only genius by surpassing his rival in powerful sword ability.

Who are some of the notable swordsmen he defeated on his journey?
They must have been powerful rivals, since Mihawk fought with Shanks, who is very strong

How his grudge for the marines began which led to him hunting them?

When Mihawk gets bored, he usually travels. Most likely, he hunted them when he found them on his travels.

What was the ‘great betrayal’ that he suffered?

It will probably be known when more things about the nobles are revealed.
