Character Discussion Why does Akainu have so many fans?

Many people like characters like akainu

He's serious, cold and gets shit no matter what, plus he's more like a necessary evil rather than a vilain, I feel like everyone will see him as more of an anti hero rather than a pure vilain like Blackbeard when his backstory gets revealed

Cause he’s a good villain. It‘s not really complex. He’s powerful, he’s played an important role, he’s got good lines, he’s had good scenes, his fighting style is cool. Sometimes simple is good. Akainu played a very simple role in Marineford and he excelled at it.

He’s also not one-dimensional, he showed some cunning with his Squard plan, he spared Kuzan, he’s shown in leading the Marines that he’s not just an attack dog, he’s shouted at the Gorosei, Sengoku’s laughing about the role not being as easy as it looks.

The good thing about Sakazuki is that Oda can just keep him the way he is, or he can expand on his past more. He’ll still be a great villain either way.

Yep he is the most dominant villain so far alive maybe too except for perhaps Im and just maybe Teach already

Akainu is by far the most hated character in the manga so I’m not sure what OP is bitching about lol. Only big-dicked high IQ chads can appreciate Akainu, and since most OP fans are essentially semi-sentient monkeys, Akainu’s popularity is extremely minimal.

It seems as though Akainu has a ton of fans because all of his fans are incredibly high IQ and high charisma but in truth Akainu is massively hated.
