Questions & Mysteries Why doesnt OP have iconic attacks & villains?

Naruto and DBZ are already part of global pop culture, as they are much more simple for the US audience to understand, they are the central place for "pop culture", both are basically about the fights with nearly zero worldbuilding, not just that, but OP design choice are too cartonish for the average anime edgy watcher and make much less impact with someone who isnt invested in the story.

When someone who have never watched both see a clip of a Pain/Madara/Itachi they look much more "cool" than a Kaido/Teach/Doffy.


Of course for someone used to the average shonen, OP is a breath of fresh air, as Oda is quite inovative with a lot of common tropes of the genre, yet for someone outside the commumity if much easier to enjoy watching Naruto and OP

Yet OP despite its fame and sales doesn't get that much mentions around the world.

I think it's due to Luffy having so many attacks (no wonder why even Oda himself forgets and has to go read fans attack lists in order to remember which attack is this or that)
And also the fact Oda doesn't really write villains that along with fights being average.

Zoro has more iconic move set or certain set of attacks and usually it resonates alot with his character and the vibe he gives.. plus they are pretty less in quantity as well but it makes up for the quality of the attack..

so whenever he executes a named attack you know he means business or the antagonist's journey in the story has been cut short


on the other hand sanji has a whole plethora of named attacks and even the best of his fan's can't even interpret some let alone pronounce them properly..
expect for hardcore wankers.. but ofc the signature moves like jou shot and mutton shot are easy to pickup like

Like zoro's what makes them more cool is basically sanji's fighting style and how he executes them...

Luffy's arsenal is much more straightforward and linear.
