General & Others Why is Gen Alpha so Obsessed with JJK?

#25
Because it is by far the only good new generation Anime & Manga battle shonen.

In all honesty Demon Slayer is far closer in quality to My Hero Academia of all things than it is to Jujutsu Kaisen.

Media doesn't have to be good to be popular. It only has to be entertaining.
When you've got a well animated adaptation, your writing doesn't need to be stellar.

Also JJK had a lot of memes :suresure:

One of which being a massive spoiler that was unavoidable:risiflip:
The difference between JJK and KNY is that I never watched JJK but still got plenty of memes from it on my YouTube feed (e.g. "Nah, I'd win", Lobotomy Kaisen, Opp Stoppa Raga, "Stand Proud", "I alone am the Honoured One", "Imaginary Technique: Purple" etc.).

I have yet to see a single KNY meme appear on my feed. Which is strange because KNY was supposedly one of the most successful manga/anime series ever but it just doesn't seem to have garnered much of a lasting legacy. :risicheck:

Entertainment in and of itself is a quality. A quality that Demon Slayer is missing imo, relative to how popular it got atleast. Naruto, Bleach, DB, One Piece, JJK, all have a draw to them.

When I watch Demon Slayer it feels like chatgpt created it.
Thats it
It is so Basic that it can appeal to Anime Nerds and new ones

Nah, AOT, Death Note, One Punch Man all transcended anime, but they are one in a million from the medium, much better than your average anime and can easily be consumed by the masses as well. Demon Slayer simply doesn't make sense, it doesn't stand out at all, I still think it's not organic.

JJK memes are generational
Only the "the one piece is real" and "lend me some haki oden" meme breached one piece containment i think
My favorite is lobotmy kaisen, we need op version of that to describe alot of things here :endthis:

I wasn't saying it as a criticism. Lol. If you can't be good then you should at least aim to be entertaining. Entertainment value comes above all else.

I'd much rather watch entertaining cheese than something that is noticeably better but boring.

KNY does seem rather suspicious. All that supposed popularity and hardly a lick of cultural relevance. :PepeReport:

I've never heard someone irl or even here ever say Demon Slayer is a great show or their favourite show. It's too cookie cutter/forgettable. Maybe it's different over there in Japan.
