Break Week Why is Oda holding the Netflix live adaptation One Piece team at a higher standard than he held himself to in Wano?

#43
Even in a hypothetical scenario where Oda had 100% creative control over the Netflix adaptation, all the flop would prove is that he cannot handle running a TV show which is hardly surprising since the skills for being a successful mangaka don't translate to being a successful showrunner.

His manga and anime audience are still going to be there. They aren't going to abandon the main medium for their favourite franchise just because a Live Action adaptation was crap, especially considering live action adaptations of anime/manga generally come with the expectation that they are going to flop.
The story that Oda has made would be the flop if it does indeed turn out to be a failure. It being life action doesn't change that very fact.

Hense why this life action series is an expansion onto the fanbase, us manga/anime audience could care less about it. But for a new person who doesn't watch anime or read manga saw the Netflix Life action version of One Piece. Read all the "professional" critics saying it a good show then it's peak his/her intrest into watching it. That would grant Oda a potentially a new fan and a person who could buy his product therefore granting him even more money.

Lolda really shouldn't be telling anyone else how to adapt shit after writing the endless atrocity that is Wano. How shameless of him. :lawsigh:
