Bypassing regen doesn't necessarily involve immortality.

The way Saturn died, I'm not positive the HKs are even technically alive, or can be without Imu imbuing them with power.

HKs and Elders are all zombie that are held alive by Imu. You can block the regen but to kill them the connection with Imu has to be severed.

Now that I think of it, Law had something special for Logia, I think he mentioned it against Trebol. Although Trebol wasn't an actual logia.

Maybe it's something similar, that affects the regen especially.

Possiibly but she could reshape after a while, it was explained as she was so scared she basically lost her mind and her ability.

It's probably something else, I'm not saying it's the same thing Law did but it could be related.

After all regen kinda works like logia powers.

This feels like a Queen situation where the villain gets absolutely clowned by someone stronger than him, then later fights someone closer to their level

Sommers vs Sanji will be a good match-up given their themes about love and Sommers already losing to Sanji’s parallel once. Sanji might also learn CoC from this battle to overcome the regen hax

As others said , adv haki only stop the healing. Most likely you will need to beat imu to stop their regen.
