Powers & Abilities Why Kaido is Awakened

I think people miss the plot points that have already been laid that suggests that Kaido is an awakened Zoan.


The two things awakened Zoans are know for are their toughness and recovery speed.

Kaido embodies both of these traits. Lets compare Kaido's Zoan abilities with another Zoan, an Ancient Zoan. Remember, Ancient Zoans have much better stats than regular Zoans. So their toughness and recovery rate are also hyped. But compared to awakened Zoans, they are nothing.

In 1004, Franky deeply wounded Sasaki, in 1019 Sasaki wounds hasn't remotely healed and is still bleeding profusely.

In 1010, Kaido is deeply scarred and damaged by Zoro, by 1014 the wound is nearly/completely healed.


That is an insane amount of recovery, not to mention Kaido went from huffing and trembling at Zoro's hands in 1010, but he stopped huffing in 1014 as well. Not to mention the Jailer Beasts who are awakened Zoans had about the same recovery time.

Kaido is surely an awakened Zoan if these stats are anything to go by.

Thats why kaido needs to die, if wano citizen is waiting for marines to capture unconcious kaido it doesnt make sense, he cant be captured or execute with ordinary blade, also a chance for kaido to escape marines escort is high

awakened zoans seem to lose a lot of their sapience.
it trades thinking ability with the ability to recover. for someone like Kaido thats not worth it.

I agree that Kaido's fruit is probably awakened. He was bleeding from Zoros wound for 5 chapters then its healed. I think its obvious but we still need a confirmation.

At this point it's not possible to have a serious intuition of what an awakening is for a Zoan.

But the one I came up with would be perhaps be turning the environment in a natural place depending on the specific zoan. That would be quite OP I know.
