Speculations Why Kaido is Going to Kill himself...

#41
It’s a very real option for how Kaido is resolved at the end of the arc. And one I’m surprised not have seen suggested before now, I never thought of it either.

I‘m not sure how he’d manage it, would Nidai (do we even know if Kaido has it, it could have been taken to Udon) be enough? But even if we don’t know the method, the overall idea is a good guess.
Tbh I suggested Nidai since there’s been an Odd amount of focus on that sword in spreads and covers. Plus Oda writes in a way that things established earlier on come back around.

I'm fairly confident Zoro will carry Enma until EoS or else the process of exchanging it for the national treasure Shusui would presumably lose part of its meaning even though it doesn't implicate Zoro can't change Enma too. It would look odd however.

Wado is too significative for Zoro for obvious reasons and about Sandai, he challenged the curse challenging the fate, also very significative but not remotely as much as for Wado.

Honestly I get the feeling by EOS Zoro will be using 3 swords all created by Kozaburo.

I personally think that around BB Pirates time Zoro will receive a sword made just for him and not an inherited blade

He is currently possessing Enma and Wado, is there a third that was acknowledged in the series?

Not yet, but I feel having two so created to his home means he’ll eventually get a third. Both were made by the old man who taught him “Sunnachi” and the father of his master so it’s a good connection

I'm not so convinced but if Zoro is revealed as a Shimotsuki the odds would look pretty spicy to me.

kaido: suffered defeat 7 times, endured over a thousand tortures, sentenced to death 40 times, was a lab rat...

and he still living as strong as ever.

i don't think anything would break his will.

Him getting a sword crafted for him would be pretty much a nerf. Remember what happened to the Kitetsus? The Shodai Kitetsu, the oldest of the set, is a Supreme grade. Whereas the Sandai, the newest of the set, is just a Grade sword. Which basically means that the newer the sword is, the lower the rank it has.

That’s just because the swordsmith did worse on these swords. Age doesn’t show rank. Enma and Wado Ichimonji are hundreds of years younger than Shusui but the same rank.

It's not about the age of the sword itself but rather the generation. Plus Wado is alr like Zoro's sword.

It feels like Kaido is a reverse Third Raikage. Both characters are the physically strongest characters in their respective universes with ultimate "spears" and "shields". But ultimately Third Raikages spear was proven to be stronger than his shield, in Kaidos case it's the opposite where his shield is stronger than his spear. He can't kill himself.

Most logical scenario is that he will be cut down above the Flower Capital by Zoro - after taking a initial beating from Luffy - but seeing as this is One Piece I don't think Zoro will actually kill Kaido on screen even if he cuts him down. But perhaps Blackbeard would if he swung by last minute or someone like Akainu or Kizaru would do the honors. Hell, why not introduce Green Bull that way?

Kaido killing himself makes no sense since he wants an honorable death.

And his "hobby" of suicide also makes no sense because he know he won't die and again wouldn't be a honorable death.
