Mihawk has little relevance to the story because he is a character for the future and not the past.

He's the strongest swordsman and he's Zoro's ultimate goal, he's that, there's nothing else for him to do.

It's not like Shanks who sailed with Roger, inspired Luffy (MC) to become a pirate and is probably Xebec's son.

The importance of Mihawk is simply that he is the strongest swordsman.

Anyway, in the VC it's said that Mihawk trained relentlessly and faced numerous challengers until there was not one worthy left. He was already famous before the Great Pirate Age even began (he was not even twenty at the time). Atm we have to make do with this.

And that is where the problem lies. A swordsman who is numerously challenged and beaten all of them until there was not worthy left is gonna inspire whole new generation of swordsmen into becoming WSS. This is something like being Roger in its own league but it seems, 1000 chapters in the story, no one cares about it other than Zoro.

You're right. This is a serious shortcoming on Oda's part. Zoro has never even faced a true swordsman other than Mihawk himself in 1000+ chapters.

Shanks say he got many but BB's one give him PTSD. BB made this scar way early at best he was at commander level or even weaker when he gave that to shanks. However shanks give zero fucks abt other scars. Either mihawk never gave him a scar (which is more likely since we dont see any visible scars he got) or if he did it was way weaker than wt BB gave him when he was at least commander level. so either mihawk never gave a scar or he is actually weaker than commander level

story never mentions abt any of mihawk wins against shanks as well. just friendly duels which is pathetic. more reasons why mihawk is a fraud

Why the hell not? At Baratie, when Mihawk first showed up, it was apparent that becoming WSS was a big deal. But where are these swordsmen, other than Zoro, who want to become WSS? Who wants to beat Mihawk? Literally no one.

Drizzt's video is an eye opening for shit writing side of Oda and Zoro's Dream part of the video clearly explains why Zoro vs Mihawk will be anticlimactic, well at least for me. And Marineford Mihawk is another reason for this. Why put Zoro's ultimate goal there make him be stopped by against people like Vista, Crocodile?

Why not put some swordsmen in the story whose goal is the same as Zoro? Make them declare that they will be WSS and then make them be beaten by Zoro and ultimately adding another great parallel between Zoro and Luffy.

wow if this is the level of critique for OP Im glad I dont watch OP youtubers. What will Zoro defeating no.28 swordman really add to his growth compared to defeating a billion beri pirate who is a strong opponent and a testament to Zoro swordsmanship? And why people suddenly pretending that characters like Shiryu and Fuji arent going to be on Zoros radar in the future arcs that will already fill this non issue?

That is not the point. The point is because of how Oda has written story after Baratie made the title of WSS mean nothing since no one cares about becoming one, no one is staying in the way of Zoro becoming WSS while literally everyone is staying in the way of Luffy of becoming PK. All of this making Zoro dream meaningless.

Because unlike PK its been very clear since Baratie that there's nothing to gain for the title of WSS. The reason why Zoro cares so much about the title is about how much it means to him on a personal level.
