I think representation is important, but I think if you are talking about fantasy characters, you don't need to be anal about it.
Aladdin is a similar thing. Agrabah isn't a real place, and Aladdin was actually chinese in the original story.
I think its only an issue if you were to have an indian playing an actual arab
Like in the TV show community, the character of Abed is canonically Palestinian, but the actor Danny Pudi is indian. However it is very apparent to me and anyone else who knows the difference between arabs and south asians, that Danny Pudi is not Palestinian.

Even in Aladdin, Hollywood uses Indians actors for Arab roles but yet have no problem hiring actual Arab actors for playing negative role
