Will luffys mother be relevant to story at all ?

I know the debate is bit old. We know in old sbs interview oda mentioned he drew luffys parents but we only see dragon.

There are few stuff i checked on seems like a fan did ask about how luffys mom would look like.

Oda describes luffys mother as being middle aged women and possibly she would be strict mother.

However we have seen these traits decribes dadan.

Do you think oda is hiding about luffys parentage seeing we know very little about dragon.

Dragon has not mentioned about his wife or remotely talks about Garp as well hinting that both dragon and garp dont get along well.

I have seen theories dragon being adopted child or got married to garps daughter and changed initial to Monkey for a reason . (Reminds me of Isshin in bleach if you guys read ichigos dad taking his wife's maiden name)

Nice question

Oda is a genius he probably is sparing that for EoS when we will have Roger/Garp families parallel flashbacks and the secret of the D. connections

Btw i think oda stated she is alive. Only hope is she is in elbaf lol. I mean its clear elbaf will be the final destination before they head to laugh tale.

From Oda's reply in the SBS, it felt that Luffy's mother won't be relevant. So, may be she won't appear at all. And even if she does, it will probably for gag moments, like her disapproval of Boa or something like that.

Oda hasn't been interested in Monkey Women, so I guess it will remain like that. Compared to this, Naruto's mother appeared pretty early to be honest.

I think we will see Luffy's mom eventually, but it probably will have to wait until EoS. The thing about Luffy is that his backstory is told in small increments throughout the series. If Luffy's mom hasn't been revealed by now when Luffy's grandpa and father have, then I think Oda is saving it for the end.
