There is a big gap between yonkos and YC1, even if Marco may be one ofbthe strongest YC1 he is still far from real yonkos. If he managed to beat BB he could have get the title just like BB started to get labeled as one when he "overwhelmed" Marco (and that is most likely what you need at least to get the yonko status). Luffy got a fake yonko title for beating Kata plus Cracker plus storming WCI and a bit of work from Morgan too.

You mean after they mutually agreed to end the match, Katakuri deliberately held back after all the shit he said about respecting Luffy as his equal and man vs man pride. Totally makes sense. Katakuri did not use the awakening because he wanted to lose the match. He needed to disregard everything else just to be able to keep up with Snakeman. Luffy wasn't good enough to sub-consciously use FS when he fought Katakuri. He barely grasped the concept by the time he entered Snakeman. He wasn't good enough to casually incorporate FS in his fighting style. In other words, It was snake-man without FS that fought Katakuri.

He made it a brawling duel, so he "didnt throw everything away to just keep up with snakeman " as you claim.
