In the latest chapter 1161, it was revealed that Rayleigh one shot Sommers in GV flashback

Which begs the question: why was he scared of Gaban instead during Elbaf?

I believe the more correct accurate translation to that panel should be this:

I guess it´s just because Gaban is famous and was though to have disappeared/died, and he saw him randomly after 20 years on a random mission to Elbaf. So part of it is shock.

How Toei will animate Rayleigh vs Sommers:

Marco = Sommers in this case. Ray's gonna neg Sommers with one finger, at least 100 FPS + 10 impact frames. They're gonna remove Ray's injuries and huffing from the manga too.


How Toei will animate Gaban vs Sommers (if they do get to fight afterwards):

Sommers = Oden. Gaban and Sommers gonna clash equally extreme diff, Gaban is gonna huff, sweating and have injuries on his face. No impact frames, barely 10 frames per second, slow motion action movement sequence.

Probably applied to their fight in Elbaf too.
