Only a thing to add. Sanji is based in Mr pink from Reservoir dogs (by Quentin Tarantino).
So i agree, Oda its not the type of autor that literally copy every myth/history and add them without change it with his vision. Very stupid arguments for Yamato staying in Wano for the Momotaro story and shits like that, cuz if Oda literally copies the story, Luffy and Marco as well they need to stay.

Her character needs work. I hope ODa really makes her better. Just being strong and a female for fan service isn’t enough.

But her joining was cemented the moment we found out she was a female part of the Enemy organization who knew Ace and wanted to join Luffy. All spelled out with first 3 chapters of her official introduction.

Yeah. Similitudes in both chars that i remember are: Mr Pink - Mr Prince, the cool scenes and the way that act and expressions in both chars are very similar, the way that they smokes, and other some things that i dont gonna write cuz spoilers xD.

Jinbei - The water creature
Yamato - the white dragon horse who carry the Priest throughout the journey. He is also the son of the dragon king. In PlayStation game Saiyuki, this one is a woman.
