Title and my opinion is why I like him because he knows what death means and that he want save everyone even it means he will die and that without fear. Also because he never ask someone for help first then he changed. And you guys why you like sanji?
Sanji had a bad childhood so he knows what it means to have a difficuilt live so he is kind to everyone

His relationship to food and people in need resonated with me big time when I first watched Baratie years and years ago.
And in a pirate series, especially early days, he stuck out with his suits and kick based fighting style.

on serious note: i love kind characters in general. The moment i saw him give food to gin i knew he is my fav.

In all honesty, I probably wouldn't normally. Over the top perverted characters aren't usually my cup of tea and cooking anime are boring. But I'm a sucker for the emo 'asshole'/bad temper/sarcasmasapersonality type anime chatacters (I'm looking at you Inuyasha) and WCI was the first arc I saw...

So seeing as I originally hated OP and didn't want to watch it because the art looked bad to me and the comedy designs obnoxiously stupid...

Seeing Sanji and WCI being an introduction point; Well Sanji looked the LESS stupid of the designs. Add that to traumatic backstory, kindness, well written tragedy, and what seemed to be a well rounded character in everything with a story that now had me hooked...

Well I fell in love with Sanji (platonically fan sense) as a character and now I'm obsessed with the entire series and want to know everything about him and his widely extended lore that falls into place with all the other world building and characters.

Because of Sanji I no longer hate the art or designs and the obnoxious parts grew on me.
