everything has an initial development phase before it meets its designated place/fate .. zoro too surely deserved to be on the roof top and the arc is kinda centered around him and the huge jump in power he just had.. and from him reciprocating the town folk's anguish he mustered the intention to bring down kaido.. and along with that plot came enma as the SOLE source zoro had atm to even cut Kaido in the first place. So what oda has been doing is exponentially progress zoro for his future encounter with Mihawk but with that his character has been progressing as well. and just coz zoro said he wants to cut Kaido into pieces doesn't make him certainly the one who brings him down as he just mentioned "Luffy figured something and he will win"
Now as the right hand of luffy he ought to be up there as a SN as well.. you can't blame oda that "OMG YOU HAVE MONEY FETISH BITCH THATS WHY ZORO ENDED UP ON THE ROOF" no this is a weak opinion.. it has all been set up from the beginning of wano where zoro has been independent for the most part and has been comprehending scenarios and making decisions, a personal time u may say.
So now zoro gets on the roof and he utilizes his power to full extent, we get to gauge how strong he has gotten after post time skip and what enma can do and see zoro's potential with enma so after the rooftop events his fanbase got something to wank over and they sure did wank it dry...all this bias BS about zoro on shot'in YC and all that exaggerated crap is what his (zoro's) shallow and desperate fan base comes up with which has 0 sense of reason or logic entailing it.. you can't honestly blame oda for the fact that zoro's fan base's majority are this unreasonable and adrenalin driven
Now even if you argue that Oda has a bias for zoro, he'd still know better than to blight his story to make a certain character rise above others.. Oda won't do that coz he knows what gradual progression is and its logical.. people who think zoro is going to fight king in his sorry state after he recuperates in a MATTER OF HOURS, BRUH he has 30 broken bones for lord's sake mate.. how would that even make sense it would straight up be nonsensical and a desperate attempt to show zoro off.. whilst ignoring the same development for other SHP, it would ruin his characterization . plus oda would know better to make zoro fight this trivial and underwhelming fight after making him do what he did on the roof.... and still is logically inconceivable even from a narrative stand point .
So in a nutshell if you see zoro's fans drooling over and desperately trying to show zoro off with their BS... don't take it as oda using zoro for $$.. the popularity poll is a great way to gauge how fair oda has been
1st) Luffy has got consistent gradual development every as a captain and a nakama every arc and is a great character who deserves that spot
2nd) Zoro, a 🐐 most of us Love for who he is and his ideals.
3rd) Nami, fan service, and a consistent character wise (you can actually blame oda for being a pervert for making nami )
4TH) SANJI THE GOAT, has his whole posttime skip dedicated to his character and his ideals, great character from within.. he's a classic tho he hasn't been done justice as a combatant him coming 4th is a cue unsatisfactory form many fans due to that and he as a character and combatant hasn't been holistically covered yet.
So in conclusion regardless of oda's "bias" zoro's character comes second to the MC and the runner-ups aren't even that far behind.. so Oda's mature enough to be maintain the consistency of his characters development wise and logically speaking as well, you can just ignore the BS zoro's fanbase spews honestly and try to comprehend zoro as a character and as someone with iron clad ideals... look zoro from the same light you'd look at your fav character from so that way you'd be doing justice to his character..
Zoro is an awesomesauce of a character with alot of depth to him... tyt (take ur time) and understand him and don't get your opinions of him get tainted by the bias BS his fanclub spews.. explore every aspect of him so that you know that you have understood him enough to shuv other's exaggerated and childish opinions under the rug.
