Its not just one exception, scabbards also had that same lightning effect but none of them have coc.
The green smoke thing is confusing but yes i do believe he used koh. Green smoke is when he is consciously using 100% haki output. So if he's using 100% haki output, then he has to be using adcoc.
Unlike King , Lucci's battle IQ and Haki are exceptional, So even tho Zoro could land free blows on King due to King's arrogance and obvious inferiority in battle intelligence.. Lucci was able to fend off and deflect such attacks from Zoro sealing any room for cheeky nicks and hits.
So zoro being smart understood the different CqC plain field he's in and that staying in the Acoa mode will exhaust and further stall this fight and even set odds against him given how taxing that mode CANONICALLY IS, so its easily and logically infereable that he decided to switch it off knowing that eventual drawbacks weren't profitable, but rather added to his odds.
Lucci would not be alive if Zoro used KoH he will be defeated with far inferior move than dragon damnation. I wonder what your excuses will be when that happens
The cope is crazy. I understand, your fan base can stand for Zoro to look good. Just try not to overdose on copium.
I answered your question I'm other threads so here you go.
Short answer:
Zoro never used KoH. That was only CoA discharge. Zoro is only using 2 swords because he has had a chance to assess awakening Lucci power and he determined he only needs 2 swords to handle Lucci.
The flames/smoke is not ACoC. That is overwhelming CoA haki use.
Zoro never used KoH or ACoC.
I have explained that before in a previous thread. Here:
This is ACoC, only black lightning.
See, no flames/smoke.
The top right scene is flames/smoke only.
That is not ACoC or KoH.
Bottom right scene is ACoC and flames/smoke.
Zoro calls that KoH. KoH is flames/smoke combined with ACoC.
With that out of the way, to answer your question. Zoro is only using 2 swords because he has had a chance to assess awakening Lucci power and he determined he only needs 2 swords to handle Lucci.

Imagine counting flashback chapters.
I didn't know Zoro has and used KoH before he was born.

He is. That's how he's able to block Zoro's sword. Invisible haki didn't go away. It still exist.
Zoro is not looking bad at all. What we are seeing is Oda typical writing style when he has Zoro face an opponent not strong enough to give him a real challenge. He makes Zoro waste time fighting until plot is ready for him to move on. We saw similar writing styles when he faced Monet, Hyouzou and Pica. Sure, Lucci is much stronger than those characters but to Zoro he's still an opponent nowhere close to his level.
Lucci mocking Zoro is his way of trying to save some face since he realized he can't beat Zoro.
Lucci went from claiming he will kill all the Straw Hats since backup arrived.
To believing he can only kill Zoro, that he considered a worthy achievement.
To realizing he can beat Zoro but as long as he can stall Zoro maybe he can convince Zoro he's a burden to his crew.
2 swords Zoro handling and controlling a battle against a YC1 character who's using their strongest form and awakening it's a great look for Zoro. It makes it clear Zoro is beyond YC1 level and top tier. Even Yamato could stall Kaido.
Zoro never used KoH against Lucci. That was CoA haki discharge.
Zoro's KoH/ACoC lightning/discharge is different than CoA lightning/discharge and the two doesn't look the same.
Oda is consistent with the way he draws Zoro's ACoC black lightning and it has a very distinct look. Zoro's ACoC is drawn as large black lightning that wraps or flows around his swords. The lightning, if stretched out, is at least the length of his swords.
ACoC/KoH
KoH is flames/smoke combined with ACoC.
CoA lightning or discharge looks different and is much smaller. It's not even a 1/3 the length of his swords
CoA
Plus, it's foolish to believe Zoro used ACoC against Lucci and he didn't comment on his power. Nobody except for Kaido, King and a few Wano fodders knows he has that power. Not even the SH knows he possess CoC/ACoC. Jinbe and Lucci will be the next two to witness Zoro's CoC power.
It exhausted a lot of haki from zoro prior to his mastery so it makes sense he was feeling drained. Doesn't changed he fully mastered it figured out exact amount of haki to supply it with. Crunchyroll seems to agree btw
ye i know but the thing is that enma was still focused on sucking zoro later on
As its master enma should obey zoro and not suck haki when zoro doesnt want it to
