Most likely, as it is a fight that has a decent amount of build up. Even in road to laughtale it is mentioned that
the people who are connected through scars are destined to meet again.
- shanks got his scar from teach
- warns whitebeard about teach, shanks most likely knows about the will of D and knows that something is fishy about teach, and he also knows how strong teach is as he managed to put a big scar on him
- his jolley roger has his scar in it for some reason
- Teach says in marineford that "We are not ready for you yet" could be implying that they will clash in the future
- I think the pirate he wanted to talk to the gorosei about is probably teach

Shanks is too strong to stay alive till the final war as he obviously is going to ally with luffy
That would make the alliance more bloated than it already is.
A clash between shanks and teach has a good chance of happening. Where teach would kill him and this would set an even more emotional connection between luffy and teach

This doesn't happen and oda takes a completely different route

I disagree with the notion that people online predicting something makes it bad writing if the author follows through with it. No need for Oda to go against an established plan for the sake of being surprising and if he does that solely for that reason, it'll be criticised too.

I think Blakcbeard defeating and potentially killing Shanks is fine, execution is much more important than whether it's been predicted. This series has been going on for decades, it's not surprising some stuff's predicted.

I won't eliminate the possibility of Shanks defeating or even killing Teach as long as it's done as a result of an unforeseen flaw during the plotline, not just for the sake of subversion of expectations.
